I need to relax my mind

I’m on vacation right now, yet here I am—with my laptop and books in tow. I’ve realized I have this constant urge to be productive, to always be on.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from sports, it’s that the body absolutely needs recovery. In fact, I’ve always performed better after a period of rest. Three weeks of intense training followed by one week of recovery.

So why don’t I treat my mind the same way?

I need to adopt that same mindset when it comes to mental recovery. There has to be an off switch. Constantly thinking about business, strategies, and plans may feel productive, but it’s draining.

Just like the body, the mind needs its own version of rest days.
